Project Name:
Effect of Tranexamic Acid on Fat Viability After Liposuction
Project Summary:
Tranexamic acid (TXA) continues to increase in popularity within plastic surgery as more surgeons start to incorporate it during their operations. Specific to liposuction, surgeons have started to add TXA to the tumescent solution to help decrease blood loss, both during and after the surgery. To date, there have been no studies looking at the effect of TXA on fat viability, especially if lipoaspirate is being used for fat grafting. The aim of this study is to assess the effect of TXA on fat viability of the lipoaspirate after liposuction.
