Our Grant Helped This Single Mom With Breast Cancer Get Back on Track

Person: Maria, Grant Recipient

Maria, a single mother with a six-year-old daughter, was shocked to find out she had stage 2 breast cancer in May 2023. She had a fibroadenoma lump for over a decade but never thought it would turn cancerous. Treatment started right away with eight rounds of chemo, bilateral lumpectomy surgery, and 15 rounds of radiation therapy. She feels so lucky that her lymph nodes were clear and she had clear margins. "I'm still dealing with several side effects from all my treatments, but it's a small price to pay for cancer survivorship," says Maria. "The Aesthetic Foundation's generous gift means so much to me!"

The Foundation's Breast Cancer Journey Assistance Fund awards $250-$1,000 to qualifying breast cancer patients to cover breast cancer care expenses like deductibles, co-pays, medications, medical equipment, respite care, support for loved ones and caregivers, wigs, transportation to appointments, and more. This program is possible thanks to the generosity of our donors. DONATE NOW
